What'southward New

Version 1.12.two

Version 1.12.2:

This update improves an open in Apollo issue, too every bit a few other modest issues.

Version 1.12.1:

Here'due south an update with some handy problems fixes and improvements based on great feedback from the Christmas update. Read on!

+ A new, actually cool icon from Yannick Lung. It's of the Apollo mascot in an one-time schoolhouse scuba conform by the incredible Yannick Lung, and I love how the details really make it experience similar an icon from a nostalgic era of time passed. Take been enjoying information technology a lot on the ol' home screen.
+ Improvements to table rendering. Thanks y'all for sending in some great examples of tables that (alongside Apollo'south new inline table renderer) weren't quite displaying properly, so I've tidied those all upward and then they should display gorgeously now.
+ Also tweaked layout algorithm a bit so that some tables that were a bit cramped should display nicer now.
+ Fixed bug where the "Quote" option in "Select Text" mode and in the comment composer wouldn't show upwards.
+ Fixed bug where the subscriber count and number of currently active accounts wasn't showing up in the sidebar (and as well added the brusque subreddit clarification to the top of it).
+ Fixed bug where some links wouldn't be tappable or but the subreddit/user part would exist if it was a Reddit link.
+ Fixed a bug where tapping on some user or subreddit links could leap you into the browser/out of Apollo rather than staying in the app (same with Wikipedia links, fixed too).
+ Fixed bug where preview text (like for a text post in a subreddit, or underneath an Inbox particular) was too dark, made it a bit lighter like earlier then as to blend in ameliorate
+ Fixed a problems with some escaped Markdown characters and those inside lawmaking blocks.
+ Fixed a issues around newlines/line breaks in Markdown.
+ Fixed a problems where sometimes you could get a indistinguishable notification.
+ Stock-still bug where text in private messages could be visually hard to read due to low contrast.
+ If you tap on a link to u/me, it'll properly load your profile now.
+ Added choice in Settings tab > General to share Reddit links as their "erstwhile.reddit" version.
+ Fixed problems where Apollo was mean to usernames with hyphens in them.
+ Stock-still bug where when comments loaded cocky text could refresh/wink in a not-cool way.
+ Fixed bug where couldn't select the championship of the post in "Select Text" style.
+ If you tap on a timestamped YouTube video it will at present open to that time.
+ Limits comment link previews to 5.
+ Fixed bug where subreddit rules could get cut off at the top slightly.
+ Flattened large groups of newlines in a annotate/post into but two.
+ Fixed issues where code blocks could get cutting off at the bottom.
+ Fixed bug where widgets would not evidence up on iOS xiv.
+ A fix for a crash that could occur on iOS 12 devices. Really sorry about that one, strange issues that was but everything should be in tip top shape now. Every bit a annotation, after this update (one.12.1) Apollo volition likely require iOS fourteen and college for further updates. Y'all'll still be able to run Apollo on iOS 12 and 13 simply equally y'all were before, but new updates will require iOS 14 and higher. Statistically very few Apollo users are still on these older versions (well nether i% of users) and the piece of work to maintain these older versions and put off using overnice, newer iOS features in full (SwiftUI, SceneDelegate, Combine, Swift Concurrency, etc.) is starting time to become a flake tough to maintain given the pocket-size userbase (and I'm merely one person building this app), and then I figure at present's a good a fourth dimension equally for iOS 14 to become the base. Hope that's understandable.

Hope these offset 2 weeks of 2022 have served you well, and if not, well I endeavour to make the rest happier through Apollo updates!

Absolutely Stellar App, Programmer is 🔥

Apollo is by far the most-used app on my phone (and now I have the ScreenTime reports to bear witness it). Information technology is orders of magnitude better than the "official" reddit app and is superior in every style. Information technology is fast and smooth and packed with features. I especially honey that I can option the theme I want, change the icon, and remove ads! The thing I hated nigh about the official app was the ads that were disguised as legitimate posts and with Apollo that's all gone!

I bought the Pro upgrade months ago to gain access to additional features and it was i of the few in-app purchases I have never regretted or felt like wasn't worth the toll. Today the developer released an update calculation a agglomeration of new features that require a very reasonable (seems underpriced to be honest) monthly subscription, and like a true bro he has the selection to unlock it for life with a onetime buy! I detest monthly and even yearly subscriptions and so I specially appreciated this option.

All that by itself should convince you lot that this app is worth it, merely the affair that really seals the bargain is the developer. He is amazing. Super agile with feedback and very open up in his communication about the status of the app's development and requested features.

Fantastic Reddit client for iPhone

From first use, this app is a joy to use. It integrates incredibly well with the rest of iOS. The default settings are more often than not intuitive (specially for starting time fourth dimension users) and for those places where the app doesn't do what y'all look, the available options are extensive.

What prompted me to write this review was actually a characteristic of the Ultra subscription (also available every bit a one time purchase). I'd put off purchasing Ultra for a while, as the biggest depict to me was the message/reply notifications but I still used Narwhal for that. I recently subscribed to back up the programmer, and got my first notification. It's great, it feels like an iMessage notification with a quick reply canvas opening upwardly so I tin reply with the easy choice to open the total app besides.

The one limitation I run into with this app is the iPad interface. It is non as well thought out as the iPhone interface; it's basically a scaled up version of the iPhone interface. But as an iPhone app, this is the best Reddit customer I've used (I even adopt it over the old and new website on a "existent" computer).

The all-time Reddit app there is, no incertitude virtually it.

Apollo is just perfect, and you don't really realize how many features you wanted in a Reddit app until you use Apollo. I used RiF for years and thought I really liked it, and when I made the switch to iOS about a year ago I was annoyed that I had to give information technology up. I tried 3 different apps on iOS before finally giving Apollo a shot, and that was that. It's heaven compared to all of its competitors.

Swipe to upvote/downvote/save/answer along with haptic feedback is and so convenient to use that I observe myself engaging in comments far more than than I did previously (there's something so satisfying about that little "bzzt"). The power to map your ain gestures for unlike actions within the app is awesome likewise. On meridian of all that, information technology's just a beautiful, sleek looking app that was clearly designed by someone who knows their stuff when information technology comes to UX.

Apollo too has its own subreddit, and Christian the sole developer is very active in it and is constantly adding features requested in that location. He's a solid dude. Do yourself a favor and try it even if you think you love your current app. I can promise that yous won't regret information technology.
